4 Exotic Easy Peeler Fruits For A Delicious Fuss-Free Snack

Exotic fruits aren’t just for those times when you want to make an extra special effort: they can also make fantastic on-the-go snacks. Here are four luxurious tropical treats that don't usually require a knife or any prep time other than simply peeling the skin before they are ready to enjoy.

Our easy peeler fruit box is perfect for corporate fruit bowls to provide healthy office snack choices, or to add to your daily diet when you are busy but in need of a delicious and nutritious pick-me-up.

Rambutan

Don’t be daunted by the hairy shell of this unusual fruit: all it takes is a squeeze around the seam of a ripe fruit to pop the flesh out of the husk. The fruit is sweet and tastes rather like lychee. Eat the white part, but avoid the seed.

Mangosteen

Mangosteen is known as the ‘Queen of Fruit’, possibly because it was a favourite of Queen Victoria, who encouraged adventurers to bring it back from their tropical voyages. The thick purple skin can be removed with a knife, but you can also twist the stem of a ripe fruit while holding the centre firmly to break the skin and access the uniquely sweet tangy segments.

Granadilla

A granadilla is a type of Columban passion fruit. You can peel it very easily with a knife, or you can apply gentle pressure with your thumbs while squeezing the fruit in your palms to break the skin open. The sweet interior can be eaten straight from the skin, or scooped out with a knife if you prefer.

Longan

A longan is sometimes called ‘dragon’s eye’, because of its golden orb shape, but don’t let any thoughts of monstrous eyeballs put you off this sweet juicy fruit! All you need to do is peel the thin skin with your fingers.
