Our exotic fruit boxes don’t just look beautiful; they also provide the perfect ingredients for a smoothie that is bursting with colour, flavour and nutrients. Here are three simple smoothie recipes that will help you to refresh your spring morning routine and keep you powered up throughout the day.
Mango & Passionfruit smoothie
This tropical fruit blend is simple to prepare and packed with nutrients, including vitamin C, which helps to support a strong immune system. All you need to do to make a batch is peel and chop a ripe mango, and cut three or four passion fruits in half. You’ll also need the juice of one lime, 250ml of skimmed milk and two small pots of fat-free mango flavoured yoghurt.
To make, whizz the mango, yoghurt and milk together in a blender until smooth. Pour into a jug and stir in the lime juice and pulp of the passion fruit for a delicious sweet but tart flavour.
Berry & Dragonfruit smoothie
The vibrant yellow dragon fruit is high in fibre and antioxidants and has a pleasingly delicate sweet flavour but is not too high in sugar. Combine with strawberries, blueberries or another berry of your choice to make a breakfast boost when you are on the go. To make, blend a peeled and chopped dragon fruit with a handful of berries and 150ml of almond milk.
If you want a touch of extra sweetness, add a teaspoon of agave honey.
Golden sunrise papaya smoothie
Hawaiian papaya has a bright orange flesh that is sweet and juicy; perfect for smoothies. Add some chopped pineapple and banana into the mix for extra fruity goodness, and whizz up with 150ml of oat milk. If you want to counteract the silky sweetness of this smoothie, spice it up with a pinch of pepper, cumin or turmeric.
